Quality / Safety Engineer – Aerospace

About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Quality / Safety Engineer to ensure the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance across aerospace products and operations. You will be responsible for implementing and maintaining quality and safety systems that support regulatory requirements, enhance product reliability, and promote continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Assurance

Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance processes and procedures in line with industry standards (e.g., AS9100, ISO 9001).

Perform quality inspections, audits, and assessments across production and supplier operations.

Analyse non-conformance reports, identify root causes, and drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

Monitor key quality indicators and prepare reports for management review.
Safety Management

Lead safety risk assessments and hazard analyses (e.g., FMEA, HAZOP) to ensure product and workplace safety.

Implement and maintain safety policies, procedures, and training programmes.

Investigate safety issues, incidents, and near misses; recommend and track corrective actions.

Ensure compliance with applicable aviation, health, and safety regulations.
Supplier and Customer Interface

Work with suppliers to ensure compliance with quality and safety requirements.

Support supplier audits and development initiatives.

Interface with internal teams and customers to resolve quality or safety concerns in a timely manner.
Continuous Improvement

Identify opportunities for process improvements by leveraging quality tools (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean).

Lead or support quality improvement projects and safety initiatives.

Promote a proactive quality and safety culture across the organisation.
Skills & Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Aerospace, Quality, Safety, or related discipline.

Previous experience as a Quality or Safety Engineer, preferably in the aerospace or high-precision manufacturing sector.

Strong understanding of aerospace quality standards (e.g., AS9100, ISO 9001) and safety regulations.

Experience with quality tools and methodologies (Root Cause Analysis, FMEA, 8D, etc.).

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively across functions.

Relevant certifications (e.g., CQE, CMSE, NEBOSH) are advantageous.
