Procurement / Purchasing Officer – Full Time
Location: Waltham Abbey
Our client, a dynamic and growing construction and furniture manufacturing company, is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Procurement Officer / Purchasing Officer to join their team and play a key role in sourcing materials, equipment, and services to support projects and production.
Key Responsibilities

Source and purchase materials for construction projects and furniture production (cement, steel, wood, fabrics, hardware, finishing materials)

Request quotations, evaluate suppliers, and negotiate contracts to ensure cost-effective purchasing

Issue purchase orders and monitor deliveries to meet project and production schedules

Ensure quality and compliance of all materials with required standards

Maintain accurate purchasing records, supplier databases, and cost reports

Collaborate with project managers, site engineers, and production supervisors

Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with warehouse staff

Support continuous improvement in procurement processes and supplier relationships
Requirements

Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Purchasing / Procurement Officer or Buyer (construction or furniture manufacturing preferred)

Knowledge of material sourcing and supplier management

Strong negotiation, communication, and organisational skills

Detail-oriented with the ability to meet deadlines under pressure

Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word) and familiarity with ERP systems
