The Role
We are seeking an experienced Internal Mechanical Engineering Supervisor to lead and support a busy workshop team. This is a hands-on leadership position, ideal for someone with a strong electro-mechanical background and extensive experience working with industrial mechanical equipment.
You will play a key role in overseeing daily workshop operations, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and coordinate workshop engineers on a daily basis
Provide technical guidance and hands-on support where required
Manage workflow and ensure jobs are completed within required timeframes
Review, organise and maintain accurate job sheets and documentation
Carry out fault finding, diagnosis and repair of mechanical equipment
Ensure all work meets strict quality and health & safety standards
Support continuous improvement across workshop operations
What We’re Looking For
Proven experience working with industrial mechanical equipment including:
Electric motors (single and three phase)
Pumps (freshwater, sewage, hot and cold water)
Gearboxes
Fans and blower units
Strong electro-mechanical background
Previous experience in a senior engineering or supervisory role
Confident fault finding, diagnosing and repairing complex equipment
Experience working within a busy workshop environment
Ability to read engineering drawings and identify components accurately
Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
Confident communicator with the ability to lead and support a team
Able to work independently and under pressure
Full UK driving licence
Working Hours
39 hours per week
Monday to Thursday: 08:00 – 16:30
Friday: 08:00 – 15:30
Salary & Benefits
£35,000 – £40,000 per annum
25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
