Tired of the same routine maintenance work? This is an opportunity to work on some of the world’s largest and most advanced industrial door systems.
We’re recruiting on behalf of a globally recognised engineering business specialising in the design, manufacture, installation, and maintenance of high-end industrial and aircraft hangar doors.
Due to continued growth and a newly secured long-term MOD maintenance contract, they are looking for an experienced Electro-Mechanical Industrial Door Engineer to join their specialist field service team.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work on prestigious aviation and defence sites across the UK, supporting technically advanced systems in a role offering genuine variety, travel, and long-term career stability.
The Role
- Carrying out planned maintenance and servicing on industrial door systems
- Diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults
- Performing repairs, parts replacement, and corrective works
- Completing digital service reports and recommending follow-up actions
- Working on large aircraft hangar doors and specialist industrial installations
- Liaising directly with customers and MOD site representatives
- Travelling throughout the UK with occasional overseas assignments
- Working independently and alongside experienced engineers on technically challenging projects
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 5 years’ experience working on industrial doors, shutters, gates, lifting equipment, cranes, lifts, or similar electro-mechanical systems
- Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding ability
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- 18th Edition / Electrical qualifications
- IPAF and/or DHF training preferred
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Comfortable with regular travel and overnight stays
- Professional attitude with strong customer-facing skills
- A proactive approach and pride in delivering high-quality work

Working Hours
Monday – Thursday: 08:00 – 16:30
Friday: 08:00 – 15:30
Additional Information
Successful applicants will be required to undergo DBS checks and security clearance for MOD sites.
Applicants must have full eligibility to live and work in the UK.
