Position: Operations Process Engineer
Location: UK – Site-based role (approx. 60% at development sites, 20% at commercial sites, 20% at development lab)
Salary: £46,000–£54,000 (depending on experience and expertise in scale-up, NPI, and project delivery)

Are you a hands-on process engineer ready to take your career to the next level? We are seeking a motivated Operations Process Engineer to help develop, scale, and implement cutting-edge chemical processes across multiple UK sites.
This is a unique opportunity to work on experimental processes that impact real-world energy and sustainability solutions, contributing to the delivery of innovative production systems from pilot scale to full commercial operation.
You will be at the heart of project delivery, taking a practical, problem-solving approach while collaborating with cross-functional teams and leading small groups of technicians and contractors.
What You’ll Do
- Project Delivery: Support planning, implementation, and optimisation of chemical process systems from pilot to commercial scale. Assist in deploying production systems on time and to the highest quality standards.
- Hands-On Engineering: Lead installation, fitting, and modification of plant equipment, supervising contractors and assembly vendors.
- R&D and Innovation: Contribute to experimental process projects, translating learnings from commissioning and site installations into improved workflows.
- Health & Safety: Support H&S compliance and implementation of safety procedures in industrial process environments.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Represent engineering teams in meetings, project reviews, and client interactions.
- Documentation & Reporting: Prepare project proposals, reports, technical documentation, and presentations.
What We’re Looking For
- B. Sci/B. Eng (or higher) in Chemical, Industrial, Manufacturing, Pharmaceutical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
- 4–7 years’ experience in chemical manufacturing, process development, plant operations, or energy sectors.
- Proven experience executing experimental or technology transfer projects.
- Strong hands-on engineering skills and practical problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to operate flexibly within cross-functional teams.
- Strong grasp of H&S principles in industrial process environments.
- Willingness and ability to travel across UK sites.
- Full, clean UK driving licence.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Visio, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project.
